When? Saturday, September 11, 2021
Where? We will be walking/riding the Bishop Grandin Trail in south Winnipeg. There is no need to walk or ride on roads – the entire course is an official City of Winnipeg multi-use trail. You can choose between walking (10 km) or riding (10 or 25 km).
For those completing the 10km distance, see the Bishop Grandin Trail West map.
For those completing the 25km distance, your route will include the second map - Bishop Grandin Trail East.
All funds raised will support the work of PFC across Canada. Whether we are working with families affected by incarceration, sending children to summer camp, or encouraging prisoners who are seeking a different path, all of PFC’s programs are pursuing a vision of reconciliation and restoration based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Sign up to walk or ride with your family, youth group or friends in support of PFC’s work across Canada. We’ve been separated for a long time from those we value and this is a great way to be involved together, while honouring social distancing guidelines.
Bike riders must wear helmets. Children ages 12 and under must ride with an adult. Riders must respect the right-of-way of walkers and use caution when passing. Cross roads only with the lights. All participants must sign the waiver and abide by the social distancing and masking requirements in effect on the day of the event.
Sponsors who wish to donate online can do so and can allocate funds to individual participants. If you plan to raise funds through cash or cheques (made payable to: Prison Fellowship Canada), please print our Donation Form and bring the form and donations with you to the event. All tax-deductible receipts for gifts over $10 will be issued at year-end.
The ride will go ahead rain or shine. Please come prepared for the weather.
The event begins and ends at the SW corner of McGillvary Blvd. and Kenaston Blvd. (in front of the Petro-Canada station). We will be there any time after 9:30 a.m. Please plan to sign in before 10:30 a.m. Parking is across the street in the Linden Ridge Shopping Centre (please park away from the buildings).
